The rising star of global chocolate brands, Tony’s Chocolonely, approached us at M.A.D Models to produce an enormous, scaled-up replica of one of their new easter eggs. The piece would serve as a key feature of a brand-pop-up designed to market this new addition to their product range.
To tackle this challenge, we started by digitising the shape and 3D scanning an actual egg before cutting it on the robot in pieces. These were then sanded, hard coated, and painted with a colour matched to the real chocolate. It was then placed on a steel / MDF base which we covered in astro-turf to amp-up the spring-like feeling of the final piece.
